Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Edinburgh, paid a visit to a charity here in the capital. Sophie visited the ‘Katherine Low Settlement’ in Battersea to find out about the work they do to reduce poverty and isolation by bringing the community together.
I secured this filming opportunity exclusively for London Live, having previously interviewed the charity for a TV piece. This package was produced entirely by myself from start to finish in time for our News at 6 programme on the channel – from booking the shoot a few days prior to filming and interviews in the morning; in a little over two hours in the afternoon, I came up with the order of shots, scripted and recorded V/O, and edited two hours worth of rushes into a final package – all with zero interference or guidance from a senior colleague.
